RE5 Exam Cost in South Africa: What You'll Actually Pay
The RE5 exam itself is only part of the cost. Between the booking fee, study material and — if it goes wrong — a rewrite, it's worth planning the full budget up front. Here's what preparing for RE5 in South Africa realistically costs.

What's the cheapest way to prepare?
If you're disciplined and can study on your own, the R350 self-study pack is the most economical route: it contains everything examinable plus three mock exams and ongoing mentorship on WhatsApp. If you already have material from your employer and just want realistic practice, the R150 practice exam pack is the cheapest way to test yourself before exam day.
If you've failed before, or you know you study better with structure and accountability, the R1,000 four-week class works out cheaper than paying a second booking fee — and if you still don't feel ready after four weeks, you get free access to the next month's class.
