Why write a mock exam before you study any further

RE5 is 50 multiple-choice questions in 2 hours with a 65% pass mark, and the FSCA writes the options deliberately close together. Reading a study guide feels like progress, but it does not tell you whether you can choose between two answers that both look right. A full-length mock paper does, and it does it in one afternoon.

Write this paper before you spend another week revising. Whatever you score becomes your study plan: the sections you missed are the sections that need real work, and the ones you got right you can leave alone.

How to use this free paper properly

• Set aside a full 2 hours and write it in one uninterrupted sitting
• Close the study guide — an open-book score tells you nothing about exam day
• Mark honestly and note every question you guessed, even the lucky ones
• Group your wrong answers by topic instead of by question number
• Rewrite the same paper a week later and compare the two scores

What happens if you score under 65%

It is not a verdict, it is information — most candidates score in the 40s and 50s on their first mock. The fix is targeted: work through the two or three weakest topics with proper material, then write another full paper under the same conditions.
