RE1 is a longer paper than most candidates expect

The RE1 exam is 80 multiple-choice questions in 2 hours 30 minutes, and it is written from the point of view of the key individual who manages and oversees an FSP — not the representative who advises the client. That difference in angle catches out people who prepared with RE5 notes and assumed the law would be asked the same way.

This free paper is a full-length RE1 mock so you can feel both things at once: the length of the sitting and the management framing of the questions.

How to get real value out of it

• Block out 2 hours 30 minutes and write it closed book, in one sitting
• Watch your pace — that is roughly under two minutes per question
• Mark honestly and flag every answer you guessed
• Sort your errors by theme: licensing, oversight, reporting, records, conduct
• Only then go back to the material, starting with the weakest theme
